"Police escorts for incoming & outgoing guests are also available upon request, free of charge." wow that sounds scary for an ordinary tourist to hear. Mga kaliwat ni Dagohoy, people of Danao should exert all efforts nga masanta ni. Dili lang mo magsalig sa mayor or police officers in your area to stop this kind of crime from happening. Every citizens in your area would do their share to protect the opportunity that was given to danao thru eco-tourism.

Here's an Op-Ed while we're at it...

The Danao Adventure Park has been a continuing miracle unfolding in the past two years, that catapulted the previously sleepy, 6th Class town of Danao into a leading adventure tourism mecca in the nation. Apart from its unique attractions that generated no less than 100 jobs, Danao is also "leading" through other means -- this year alone, the town is on track to allocate 5 Million pesos from the park's proceeds to fund an ambitious social services program, that includes supplemental feeding, socialized hospitalization, scholarships, and micro finance. This is a rare feat for a provincial, mountain-top town... perhaps as rare as The Plunge itself.

A continuing miracle, that is, until the recent spate of crime, that can certainly deter us from our goals, perhaps, even knock us down completely, but only if we choose to yield to these criminals.

Just this evening we witnessed the sad and deplorable breaking news from the national capital, where a bus full of tourists was held hostage, leading to the tragic loss of life. This is a blatant reminder how crime can seriously harm our aspirations on the growing tourism in the country. This tells us that criminals that prey on tourists, whether in Manila, or Danao, or in Inabanga, victimizes not only those they rob, or kill, or maim, but also hurt the many personalities involved in the tourism industry -- the travel agency frontliners, the tour operators and drivers, the tour guides, the waiters, the habal-habal drivers, and so many others.

This leaves us with only one sensible goal -- to do all we can to stamp out crime. Only then can we proceed on the long road to the realization of a better life, through a vibrant and viable tourism. Only then can jobs and employment continue to be created, only then can we continue to conserve, protect, and rehabilitate the environment, only then can we continue to marginalize insurgency, only then can we allow the detained miracle of tourism to ensue its battle against poverty in countryside.

Let us all work together to find effective means to defeat crime. Danao, in close collaboration with the PNP, is resolute to once again, lead the way to develop strategies that protect our valued guests and tour operations partners. We must not yield. We must not waver. Let us fight, and prevail!

how can the danao police work on the case when there was only one police officer in the precinct with no means of communication at that... pinapaloadan pa nang nahold-up ang cellphone just to call the mayor of the place. of have serious police work to do. The victims has to call from the tagbilaran barracks for police assistance and why should the management tried to hush up the van driver...

The two cases of highway robberies are both unprecedented as these has not happened before. Danao Adventure Park is working closely with the PNP in resolving the matter.

We now have positive identification of most of the suspects, and they are either in flight, or in hiding.

Inabanga and Danao are working together as well. A police detachment will soon be established along the Sagbayan-Danao highway. Until the said detachment is established, local PNP has daily patrols on the highway, as well mobile checkpoints. Police escorts for incoming and outgoing guests are also available upon request, free of charge.
